We collect, store and use personal information if you or the company you represent, use or buy our products or services. The Ontology Way also collects, stores and uses personal information about you for marketing purposes.
We use the personal information to be able to deliver the products or services, to validate access to the Emission Twin Service and to track the use of the Emission Twin Service, and to provide support to the services. We need the personal information to send you operational information about the services, and for contractual and financial reasons. We use your personal information to market our services, and to provide information about new services, newsletters and invitations to our events. The personal information that you provide us with will be used for responding to your questions or requests and will be stored in our systems due to administrative and back-up reasons.

We might also collect personal information about you from other sources, such as social media like LinkedIn and/or the website of the company you work for. If we collect personal information about you from any other source than yourself, we always specify where we got the information by e-mail to you. We collect personal information that you, your employer or principal provide us with when you use the Emission Twin Service or for granting you access to the Emission Twin Service. We also collect personal information that tracks your use of the Emission Twin Service, when you contact The Ontology Way support function, or create an account at The Ontology Way support function.

We might also collect IP addresses, user ID’s, Twitter, LinkedIn or other social media accounts, and activities on The Ontology Way’s website. For the purpose of hosting events our marketing department may also collect food preferences for a specific event. Responses to questions regarding special dietary requirements can potentially reveal the religious affiliation or health information of the attendee and should be treated as sensitive data.
The legal basis for our processing of your personal information is that processing is necessary for the purpose of the legitimate interests of The Ontology Way to market our products and services, to respond to your questions and enquiries and to host The Ontology Way events. The Ontology Way may under certain circumstances process personal data based on consent. The Ontology Way may request consent from you in order to process certain information and/or to transfer such information to a third party. In such case you must explicitly consent to the processing in question prior to The Ontology Way processing the data. For the provision of the Emission Twin Service The Ontology Way will process a user’s name, login information (e-mail address) and other account information and track your usage of the Emission Twin Service. As part of our support processes, we may ask you for copies of the database and log files from your Emission Twin server for the purposes of resolving any technical issues.

For example, this may include the use of intercompany or external data processing agreements as well as EU approved Standard Contractual Clauses or such other mechanisms as have been recognized or approved by the relevant authorities from time to time.
Apart for contracted third-party service providers, contracted The Ontology Way Partners or other legal entities within the Ontology Way group of companies your information will not be shared with anyone else.
